So, yay. Another page in colour. I like the way the people look in colour, and it gives the backgrounds som distinction even though I'm not very good at them. I guess it's all good OpenCanvas practice, anyway!
There's basically three things I really like about OpenCanvas.
One is that it has a straight line tool that's usable with a tablet stylus, which Photoshop fails at horribly; that's good 'cause it means I don't have to damage my hand mousing them. It's going to take some getting used to, but it'll be good in the long run.
Second is that the 'watercolour' brush is excellent for blending. Except it's not so great at transparency. But aside from that, it's excellent, and I can cope with the transparency thing.
Third, though, it records everything you do, so you can save out an 'event file', and anyone else with OpenCanvas can play it back and see how you put the piece together. Here's the event file for this week's page - give it a go. It works with the demo version of OC as well, and it's pretty awesome. You can hit up the PortalGraphics community site for some far better art than mine, too.
Oh, and work on the game-in-a-month game progresses apace. This is all I've finished so far, but I've made a start on a lot of other things... ;-)
